Tungsten carbide electrode are welding rods that combine crushed tungsten carbide particles with a nickel, bronze, or cobalt matrix. These electrode are used for hardfacing critical wear surfaces, providing exceptional abrasion resistance far beyond conventional welding materials. Retop produces both spherical cast carbide and angular crushed carbide electrode, suitable for various welding processes including oxy-acetylene, TIG, and induction.

These electrode are widely used in applications involving severe abrasion or erosion, such as oilfield stabilizers, drilling tools, mining bits, trencher teeth, and construction wear plates.
